I am passionate about teaching with clarity and compassion and believe that yoga is accessible to everyone. Always inspired by movement, my yoga classes aim to encourage serenity, space and stability in the body and mind.

YOGA CLASSES

PRIVATE YOGA CLASSES

Yoga is for everyone.  In a private session, each class is tailored to your specific needs and goals.  Whether you are a beginner or looking to develop and strengthen your existing practice, private yoga sessions allow students to ask questions and cultivate their own practice.  Contact Lisa to schedule your first lesson at your home, office or a studio location.
VINYASA FLOW YOGA

Vinyasa Flow involves movement on the breath. There is an initial focus on connecting with the breath and using that to support the postures. As the class progresses, the postures are linked together in a sequence and then practiced on the breath. Students will build strength, flexibility, muscle tone, balance and mindfulness. I believe that practicing yoga with a mindfulness of the breath helps to create freedom and flexibility in the body.
HOT STUDIO VINYASA FLOW

Students can expect all the elements of a Vinyasa Flow class with the added intensity of a heated studio.  Classes are 70 minutes in duration.

SEQUENCING A YOGA CLASS: A WORKSHOP FOR TEACHERS
CONTINUING EDUCATION SERIES

Developing new sequencing techniques allows us to keep yoga interesting, evolving and sustainable. This workshop will explore methods of developing a theme or reason for sequencing a class or practice.
This is a workshop aimed at yogis interested in furthering their yoga education and developing a daily practice. There is some focus on teaching skills which you can put into practice if you are a qualified teacher, or transfer to your personal practice.  If you’re a teacher, these hours are eligible towards your required Continuing Education hours with Yoga Alliance.

Moving beyond our 200hr training, it can be a struggle to keep things interesting. Initially, the standard sequences act to protect us and our students while we learn and gain experience and a deeper understanding. As we develop, we naturally want to broaden our practice and break out of the routine, and to be able to tune our sequences to the needs of our bodies and our students. To do so effectively requires more than just a broadening of our yoga knowledge.  From forward folds to backbends and everything in between, sometimes it can be difficult to know what is the best and safest why to plan a class or your practice. Being able to construct a class or a practice to suit a mood, a particular person or a varied group is a skill.

Sequencing is both an art and a science, much like yoga itself. It requires a visceral understanding of whatever it is being presented, and a real sense of economy in movement. Expect insightful advice, opportunity to discuss a variety of ideas with other students and test out different sequence methods. Learn to develop sequences that create balance in the body through the development of strength and flexibility, and to tailor a practice to the strengths and goals that matter most.

If you're a teacher, these hours are eligible towards your required Continuing Education hours with Yoga Alliance.

OPEN YOUR HEART TO DEEPER BACKBENDS

There are many ‘ways in’ to practicing back bends.  This workshop will provide a platform to ask questions and build on your practice whatever your level is now.  Physically, we will focus on opening the front of the body (specifically the quadriceps and the hip-flexors), stabilising and opening the shoulders and upper back and strengthening the core to support the spine.   We will encourage the body to open evenly letting go of fears, expectations and limitations.

This is an open level workshop for students who practice regularly and are looking for techniques to come into Urdhva Dhanurasana (wheel pose) and for those who want to discover the component parts of more challenging back bends.

INTRODUCTION TO YOGA WORKSHOP

This workshop is ideal for absolute beginners and will teach students to develop mind-body awareness and the ability to nurture their own well-being.  It will introduce students to the asana (poses or postures) practice of yoga.  The workshop will begin with breathing (pranayama) techniques and simple poses (asana) before working up to a vinyasa (movement with breath) sequence and relaxation.  This workshop teaches techniques which will help to reduce stress, improve posture, manage moods and increase energy.
